The function of a Georg-Fischer-Converter is to treat the liquid metal mostly with pure Magnesia. First, the converter will be filled with liquid metal and held in a horizontal position and then the left upper corner of the chamber will be filled with Mg pellets. The entire unit will then be brought into a vertical position and an intensive chemical reaction will start immediately.
