Today, this is the most versatile melting unit available for the foundry industry. A very wide range of alloys is produced in it: grey, ductile and malleable irons, steels, copper alloys, aluminium alloys, etc.
The stirring effect that occurs in a CIF makes it an ideal unit for alloy preparation. As the atmosphere can be controlled, the metallurgical losses can be reduced significantly.
The medium frequency, high melting rate CIFs are in trend.
In the segment of the CIFs, we have had more than 50 years of successful cooperation in the foundry industry worldwide. We are able to offer a full range of solutions that result in an improved and efficient lining life. Indeed, we offer a full set of monolithic linings covering all refractories for the complete furnace (hot face lining, cast blocks, coil grouts, covers, spouts, etc) and for a very wide variety of applications and operating conditions. The CALDERYS Group is considered by its customers as the reference supplier in this field.
Additionally, in the ferrous market, our silica Dry Vibratable Mixes (DVMs), based on our unique Swedish microcrystalline silica, are globally recognised as the benchmark for CIFs. However, we also provide neutral and basic DVMs to suit all melting processes.
We place a great importance to the installation process and therefore, we have developed specific installation equipments.
