Favourably situated close to the river Rhine for both incoming and outgoing deliveries
to serve the European refractory market.
Between 2002 and 2004 full modernization:
- erection of a new taphole clay production
- start-up of the new fully automated plant No. 1, probably the most modern concept for refractory producing units
- Start-up of the plant No. 2 for dry mixes
Today the Neuwied plant represents one of the most efficient production units for monolithic refractories. Further capital expenditure is budgeted.
